A great French philosopher. One of the major ones of the 20th century and a leader of poststructuralism. Wow! Much of his work is devoted to reconstructing a philosophical tradition organized around the concept of becoming rather than being— i.e. around the refusal of all that old boring stuff: static systems, transcendental truths and psychology. He is best known for his two-volume collaboration with the psychoanalyst Félix Guattari: Capitalism and Schizophrenia: Anti-Oedipus and A Thousand Plateaus. Although he is sometimes criticized for his "counter-cultural" attitude and obscurity, he never conceived his philosophy as an organized system. Rather he extended a principle that organizes much his work: the continuous provocation to thought. On 4th november 1995, Deleuze committed suicide laeping out of the window from his apartment of rue de Bizer in Paris.
